Work
I'm often asked about the rain theme of this site. There is a reason for it. Have you ever stepped outside on a summer day, just as a rainstorm is finishing passing over? Think about the sounds, the smell, the cool air, the calmness. Then think about how in the western and central US, water is becoming increasingly scarce. About how farmers, governments, industry, and yes, even ordiary people are struggling with water availability. About water restrictions, water rationing, and crop failures due to the lack of this precious resource. Then think about conserving water.

I reside In Austin Texas, where I work and play. Currently, I'm Director of Operations for a software firm providing services to broadcasters around the world. I'm passionate about vintage computing, robotics, inventing, science fiction and making things that utilize technology. Electonics, gadgets, machines and shiny objects are also things I build and collect.
In addition to all this, I own a couple of small businesses, TBSIPro (a technical services company) and Rain-Sense, (a rainwater harvesting service company), and Parker Family Enterprise, a holding company for some of the other things I tinker with.
